Now it should be becoming clear about the different agendas of each of the main characters. What did Spartacus want? What was his goal? Who did he represent?
What did Marcus Licinius Crassus (the patrician guy played by Sir Laurence Olivier) want? What was his goal? Who did he represent?
What did Gracchus (the portly man with white hair) want? What was his goal? Who did he represent?

spartacus represented the slaves of rome. he wanted what was in their best intrest. crassus wanted an expansion to his power and security. he was the intrest of the patricians. he showed little regard for the slaves or the patricians, represented by graccus. by todays standards, gracchus would be democrat, crassus republican and spartacus an insurgent, because both sides want him dead.
Spartacus wanted freedom for himself and the many other enslaved men and women. His goal was to try and free enslaved people, but keep the society stable. Spartacus represented the slaves. Crassus, as Alex said, was seeking expansion of power mainly for himself. He did not show much respect/feelings to the enslaved people. He was the intrest of the patricians. Gracchus could be said to represent the Patricians peoples.
Sparticus wanted freedom for him and all of the slaves in Rome so they could escape across the sea. Sparticus represented the slaves and freedom. Crassus only wants to make himself more powerful and doesn't really care about others in achieving his power. Like Alex said Graccus represented the patricians.
Sparatcus reperesented the slaves and wanted fairness and freedom for not only himself but for all the other slaves who were just like him (powerless). His goal as Sarah had said was to free the enslaved men and women. Crassus was greedily looking for power and to expand. He didnt care for the slaves and lower class and represented the Patricians. He didnt like Sparticus and wanted him dead. Gracchus as Sarah said representd the patricians, and didnt like Sparticus either.
Spartacus wanted freedom for all the slaves that suffered the same hardships as he did. Spartacus represented the slaves. Crassus was too concerned for absolute power. Both Crassus and Gracchus didn't like Spartacus. Crassus didn't care for the slaves like Matt said and he represented the partricians aslo. Gracchus represented the partricians also.
I wasn't in class to see the movie but i tried to find a plot summary to help me. Spartacus represented the slaves and was seeking freedom. Crassus was seeking rising power and represneted the patricians. Crassus also did not care abou anyone else. Gracchus also represented the patricians.
Spartacus is the symbol of the slaves and the freedom of the slaves. He is the struggle the slaves have against the Romans. His goal is to free all the slaves and defeat the Romans. Crassus symbolizes the patrician and their greed. Crassus's goal is only for himself and he wants land and slaves. All Crassus wants is power.
Spartacus wanted freedom for not only himself but the rest of his slaves as well. He represents a leader (and a rebel as well). Marcus Licinius Crassus wanted to obtain more power and he didn't anyway want to help the slaves. Finally, Gracchus didn't want Sapartacus around and like Sarah said represents Patricians.
Sparticus was the leader and the representative of the slaves that were being mistreated in Rome. He wanted like what all slaves would want, freedom. Crassus wanted to simple gain power and wealth and also to maintain the way Rome was at the time because he was benefitting from it. Graccus did not like Sparticus, he thought he was a major threat to Rome and wanted him to be erased immeadiately.
Spartacus wants to free all slaves from Rome, he is the leader of the slave army and he represents the slaves. Crassus wanted more power than he already had. It also seems he wanted a lover by the way he was treating and talking to his slave. Many people in the senate are angry with Crassus. Gracchus didn't care much about the slaves; at least he didn't want to free them. He also seemed to have wanted power. Both he and Crassus represented the patricians.
Sparticus led the slaves. He wanted to free all of the slaves and create an army that will overcome Rome.Sparticus wanted freedom. Crassus wanted to become more rich and powerful. Graccus represented the patricians.
Spartacus, as he led the fleet, he wanted to create an army of gladiators. Spartacus represented the intrepid slaves, and as kelly said he was looking for freedom. I'm sure he wanted to be in a place without being "owned" with his lady. Crassus as wealthy as he was took interest upon expansion of land. As a patrician he took no respect in slaves, rather interest in their price. As for Gracchus, he was in search of money offered by others such as Crassus.
I would say that Spartacus represented freedom and a leader of the slaves as most of the bloggers here say. He wanted to free the slaves and try to break out of Rome so they don't have to live under their rule. Marcus Licinius Crassus *who im guessing is the bisexual guy who likes to use terms of mmm oysters and ewww snails*. His goal was to expand his rule and power over the growing Rome and would represent the patricians. Gracchus goal was to be a make democratic decisions for Rome and to be a pervert. He represented the patricians also and the rest of the people of Rome.
Spartacus did not believe he was to be treated like an animal that the Romans made him by forcing him to be a slave and then a gladiator. He wanted freedom for the slaves. He was a leader because he refused to let the powerful people take control of his spirit. His goal was to work to organize the runaway slaves and gladiators to stand up for their freedom and fight those that wanted to keep them powerless. Crassus was not concerned with the slaves as people. His only concern as a patritian was to maximize his power. As Sarah and Alex said, his focus was on gaining for himself. He wanted to beat Spartacus and punish the slaves for their revolt. Gracchus, of the Patricians wants a different form of government for Rome.
Spartacus was the leader of the slave rebellion and gave the slaves the hope that they hadn’t had for so long. Spartacus wanted two things one selfish and one for the good of his people (slaves.) Firstly he wanted the “attractive” slave women, he saw her in a romantic light, and their first meeting must have made a lasting impression in his mind. The other thing he wanted was, himself and the other slaves to be free. You can decide for yourself which one was which. Crassus wanted slaves and land for himself, he supported the Patricians. And Gracchus wanted power over everything and everyone, his views would relate to that of the Patricians.

As EVERYONE else said, Spartacus represented the slaves and wanted freedom for everyone who was enslaved. Crassus, wanted more power so he could expand more of it. As MANY others said, Gracchus represented the patricians.
Once again Spartacus’ thirst for freedom, determined him to lead a slave army in order to overcome the rich Romans that broke his love apart and wish the slaves dead. Crassus wanted to become rich and powerful. Also he doesn’t hold off bragging about rome.
Spartacus, as Sarah said, wanted freedom, which was what all the slaves wanted. I think that he was like the Harriet Tublan? of these ages because he helped so many slaves escape as did Harriet. His goal was to conquor the Romans who had enslaved him. Crassus wanted a body servant who like snails and oysters and did not think that they were immoral. His goal was to take control of all of Rome. He represented Hitler, who wanted complete and absolute control. Then Gracchus pretty much just wanted money and wealth and to be a part of Caesar's life, which would be very profitable. His goal was to be probably the wealthiest man in Rome. I think he represents Bill Gates because he has so much money, or he will end up with alot if you "chooses" hte right people.
sparticus wanted to leave Rome with slaves he freed. his goal was to, on the way, free as many slaves as possible. he represented freedom, leadership, and the slaves of Rome. Crassus wanted power. his goal was to take over Rome. he said that he represented the people but he really represented himself. he tried to rule Rome through the senate. Graccus wanted also to take over Rome. his goal was to do this through the plebiens. he to said he represented the people but he really represented himself.
Sorry about the late answers, i've been sick, but i've seen enough of the movie to answer some of these. I agree with alex in his assessments of the characters, the different power philosophies of gracchus and crassus are extremely comparable to the political parties of today, but this is only natural, because there will always be three men in the world. The man who allies with the king, the man who allies with the people, and the man who couldnt care less who he allied with, as long as he helped improve his station in life. although the reasons change, these are the basic paths that people take to attain power.
spartacus wanted to be free, and to have his children free. he represented the slaves and what they wanted for their future. crassus wanted to increase his own self-image by crushing the slave rebellion. he did not care for the citizens so much as he cared for them following him and his policies. his conservative views were based on the idea that rome was broken and the only way it could be fixed was by going back to the old policies. gracchus wanted to prevent crassus from rising in power and to prevent him from interfering with the slaves.
Spartacus wanted what was "good" and what was "right". He was honest and did not believe in killing innocent people. Crassus wanted what was best for himself, and what he believed was best for Rome. He didn't care who got hurt or who died, as long as he got what he wanted. Gracchus represented the patricians.
