I think the most important thing mentioned in these few pages were the fact that how they explained how they were all nomadic and became settlers. In the future this is a big impact. Who knows if they didn't become settlers, the humankind might have been still nomadic. You need to know also the different kinds of humans that they mentioned in the few pages of this text. That is very important in order to know how they progressed in time in intelligency. Also you should know what obstacles they encountered during this time. That is pretty much the key things that were found.
I believe that the most important aspects mentioned in these pages would include, how early humans continued to grow and develop over time. How they emotionally and socially evolved. Their intelligence imoproved as well. Specific names were given to the stages the early people went through to get to where we are as humans today. Progression has been made in our species by learning from the past, and buliding off ideas from past generations.
The key points you need to know is how we began from a simple species to a more advanced species. The most important ting we need to remeber is how we started with hunting and grew to providing for oursleves by using Earth's natural resources.
There were a couple of main ideas that i think the author was trying to get across to us.
1. The earliest human like forms were called hominds, and lived in East Africa.
2. 250,000 years ago, homo sapiens emerged, and 200,000 years ago, Homo Sapiens Sapiens, who were the first to migrate out of Africa, now classifies all humans today.
3. As time passed, their intelligence grew as well. Soon, they were able to make fire, and create tools of their own creation. They also laerned how to hunt and gather, learned which plants carried medicine, and how to adapt to new challenges.
4. They did not only survive but knew enough to tell their story through painting on caves. They explained what everyday life was like for them and which animals were of meaing to them.
The Earliest Humans were called hominids, and came from East Africa.
Homo sapien means Wise Human.
The Paleolithic age was a period when humans were hunter-gathers, and in the Neolithic they settled.
Katelyn Connor (Period 4)
The main ideas:
3-4 million years ago- Hominids lived in Africa
Homo habilis “handy human” - tool maker with brain 50% larger
Homo erectus “upright human” 1.8 million years ago
-made use of varied tools
-first hominid to leave Africa & move to Europe and Asia
250,000 years ago-Homo Sapiens “wise humans”
1. Neanderthals
-buried dead
-made clothes from animal furs
2. Homo sapiens sapiens (“wise wise human”)
-replaced Neanderthals who became extinct
-by 10,000 BCE found throughout the world
Important part of being human was making tools-earliest tools were made of stone
Paleolithic Age “Old Stone”:
- lived in bands of 20-30 people – in caves
- invented spear, bow & arrow
- main work was to find food
- had fire as of 500,000 years ago to cook food
Two Main Innovations- making tools, use of fire - shows ability to adapt to environment and survive.
Paintings in caves – for religious and decorative reasons

Hominids were the first humans, they lived in east Africa and led a "nomadic" life. They were hunters and moved around to survive. Time allowed the species to evolve. The most drastic change was in terms of their survival and ways of life. They became more intelligent with using what they had to survive. One of the most important issues discussed in this reading was the "Neolithic Revolution" c.10,000-4000 B.C.E. This is referred to as "the new stone age". This major change introduced a new way of life, settlement. This put an end to the nomadic way of life for most of the hominids.
The most important things to remember would be that these hominids evolved into different species and there was many different ages such as the Paleolithic age. Also, that the hominids' minds developed overtime to try and make sure of their survival.
i think the most important things in pages 2-5 is how the early humans were more developed. they were able to make tools and cave drawings. they didn't just sit around all day scratching their heads. another really important fact is how humans grew and changed in order to work with their surroundings.
There were some important details in this reading. One of them is that the first humans were nomadic, but soon settled in different areas of the world. The change from being nomadic hunters following herds to settling and staying in one area is very important. The first humans were hominids who lived in Africa, they looked like apes but walked on two legs and had larger brains. This allowed the first humans to make tools which gave them an advantage against their predators. There were many different species of humans before the coming of our species. One of te most dominant humans were the neandertal or cavemen. They soon became extinct and soon came homo sapiens. Then came our species of the homo sapien sapiens. This means wise, wise human. Another important point in the reading was the cave drawings on the walls. This gives some puzzling questions on how the early humans knew how to draw and create paint. But it proves that these early humans had a social life in their group and it was a way of communicating

like Eddie said the earliest humans were nomadic. they followed the food source around. as they evolved they grew more intelligent making tools and weapons to make life easier.
the main points were;
1. the early humans were called hominids
2. they were nomadic
3. their itelligence increased over the years
4. there were several different species of hominid

I think the most improatant aspect is that they found a way to survive. You would imagine that the first humans didn't have a clue how to survive. But, the funny thing is that they did. They knew the right animals to hunt, as well as where to settle. Even though their language was much different then ours they somehow found a way to communicate. They drew on the walls, and their paintings today are considered art. I think its amazing how they knew how to survive are well as important.
I believe that the most important information from pages 2-5 was that early humans were smarter than we thought and that they had culture. Then how they were nomadic and eventually spread from africa throughout the world. The humans adapted to the enviroments that they encountered and there cultures changed as they wree spread out through the world.
1. The earliest humanlike creatures known were a type of hominid, that lived in Africa.
2. 250,000 Homo Sapiens emmerged. It means wize human.
3. by 100,000 bc 2 types of homo ssapiens had eveolved.
4. The neanderthals of the palelithic age made tools, and learned how to use fire.
5. The transition from being nomadic to a stable civilization was the most important idea in the chapter.
The key ideas
1.The first hominids lived in africa about 3-4 million years ago.
2.Homo sapiens ermerged about 250,000 years ago which was a critical phase in human growth.
3.They developed the ability to make tools made of stone in the Peleolithic Age.

I believe that the most important thing is the different species of humans, and how they lived a nomadic lifestyle, which means they moved from one place to another according to where the food is at that time. Another aspect includes the change from hunting food to planting it within the soil; this was during the Neolithic Revolution this would slow the nomadic patterns of these ancient peoples significantly. Such a large change in lifestyle, to me, is very important.
I thought the main points were the names for the early humans and where they lived/ traveled to.
Also, I thought it was important to say that each different species of humans intelligence grew.
